I had two friends accompany on today’s journey. Barry, who rode as an outrider for this segment of the journey in December will be with for the next couple of days as an outrider. Denver Durham stopped by and drove for just the day in the wagon.
We’re currently camped 13 miles from Dave and Marti’s place, with the same folk’s place we camped at last December. I’ve got an electric fence set up for the two lads and a separate enclosure for Barry’s horse.
It felt really good to get back out on the road. The lads were stepping out pretty good and walked the 13 miles in about 4 hours. It only took about a mile and a half of trotting to get Bill through his oats and pulling straight with Bob.
It was incredibly easy to fall back into the wagon mode of operation. With a team of magnificent horses, a nice day, a great wagon, beautiful countryside and lots of friendly people; it really wasn’t that hard to get back into the swing of things.
