7/15/09, Bentonville, IN - The boys were picking them up and laying them down today. We all had Go-Home-itis, so we drove the 30 miles to the house.
About 10 miles out, the lads figured out that they were headed for the home paddock, so they picked up the pace. About a mile out they started to trot and then they broke into a lope for the last 1/2 mile. It was nice and cool today, so I let ‘em go.
We’re going to try out this civilized world for a week. I’ve got a few repairs to do to the wagon and the boys need a week off to eat some grass and remember what it’s like to be lazy horses. After that, we’re headed north for Michigan. (A week of this plastic life is about all I could handle right now.) I plan on using some of the time off to do a little writing.
