4/4/09, Hickory, N.C. Today was the big 50th birthday. It was really nice to see it (considering the alternative). My daughter Lisa is here for a couple of day as she split her spring break between friends in Tampa and myself in North Carolina. It has been a great reunion.
Monday morning very early, I’m off to Mississippi to pick up my wagon stuff from the sheriff and the horses from Dr. Calvert. Then, friend Les Riddle and I will be hauling everything up to Indiana.
You might remember the picture Lisa took for me as a morale builder when I was in the hospital. She climbed up on to my sister’s motorhome with a cocktail to wish me good health and a speedy recovery. Once I got through the haze of the drugs I was on for the first week and a half in the hospital, I figured the picture out and it went a long way towards speeding my recovery.
Today, we decided to expand on the theme a little. We both climbed up there with pina coladas in pineapples and toasted each other.
