8/3/09, Battle Creek, MI.  We decided to make a short day out of it (well, I decided, and by default, everyone else agreed it was a good idea.)

I drove 12 miles in the morning and stopped for lunch at the edge of a hay field. After lunch, the farmer didn’t have anyone to stack hay coming off the baler, so I jumped on his wagon and stacked some hay,

“We” were feeling a little bit lazy, so I asked Gerald if we could camp on the edge of his hay field. We’re currently located about five miles south of Battle Creek, on a back road.

It was nice to quit early. Gerald and I went down to the local coffee house for a cup of java. Then I did a little writing and put together a good supper for everyone. You could say this was “half a holiday”!

Hey mom, after seeing these pictures, are you still concerned that my kitchen is located in my bathroom?
