7/25, 7/26/09, Montpilier, IN This posting is a little late, as I didn’t have internet service the past two nights. The 25th was a great day of driving. For the most part, I stayed of the highways and on the county roads. The traffic was light and the people were friendly. In Millgrove, IN, I was invited to attend an ice cream social at the local Methodist church. I had a great sundae and a few nice people got to meet the team. I found out that Bill turns his nose up at ice cream, but Bob absolutely loves it. He’s good about eating off the spoon

It was past 6 pm, before we pulled into Jim and Donna’s place about 3 miles north of Montpilier. This was a great stop with terrific hosts. The beer and the food were great, the fishing was really good and the company was terrific. We were invited to stick around for a while, so the lads and I took a day off, It doesn’t get much better then this.

Getting on the road again after the day off was also a plus. It provides an opportunity to recover from the festive atmosphere (it takes longer then it used to).

I plan on passing to the west of Ft. Wayne, then going up state route 5 to Shipshewana. It looks like good weather for driving a team down the road (of course, I also say that same thing in most any kind of weather.)
